LIVE: June 10th 2006, Sauna Open Air, Tampere, Finland
After the first show of the summer of 2006 at Lappi Areena, Rovaniemi, Lordi had not only one, but two festival gigs the very next day, on June 10th 2006. The first one was at Sauna Open Air, Tampere. After a 700km night drive, we arrived at Tampere on the next morning so we had lots of time to set up the stage and enjoy the beautiful summer day. Twisted Sister and W.A.S.P. were also playing on the main stage that day. Lordi was the opening act but there were already thousands of people in the audience. This time I wasn’t working at the merchandise booth, so I managed to take a few pretty decent photos from the side of the stage. After the show, we were on a tight schedule and had to leave to make it to the second gig of the day at KilleriRock, Jyväskylä, 150km away from Tampere.
Before we left though, the monsters had a meet & greet kind of moment with the masters, the guys from Twisted Sister, when they handed The Arockalypse gold and platinum records to Dee Snider and Jay Jay French for featuring on the album. But I’m gonna save those pictures for next week!
